If you enjoy the Love in Bloom series by Melissa Foster, you’ll loveHarborside Nights.

Harborside Nights is a sexy, hot, and evocatively real New Adult Romance series that follows a group of friends who have known one another for years as “summer” friends, and now come together after college to build their lives. They’re tough, edgy, and accepting–most of the time. Although Catching Cassidy is a heterosexual romance, this series will include heterosexual, gay, and lesbian themes, written in the loving, raw, and emotional voice readers have come to love by New York Times & USA Today bestselling, award-winning author Melissa Foster.

In Catching Cassidy…
Wyatt Armstrong never imagined that instead of celebrating his college graduation, he and his twin sister would be dealing with the death of their parents. Then again, Wyatt had never been one to think past tomorrow. He heads to their summer home in Harborside, Massachusetts, with his best friend Cassidy Lowell in tow, to spread his parents’ ashes and to try to figure out his next step.

Six foot two, infuriatingly handsome, and flirtatious, Wyatt Armstrong has always been there for Cassidy, helping her pass her classes and fend off unwanted advances, while driving her insane with his one-night stands–but that’s what best friends are for, isn’t it? Having each other’s backs. There was never any doubt that she would accompany him to his family’s summer home–even if her jealous boyfriend is giving her hell for it. But he doesn’t have anything to be jealous of…or does he?

It’s impossible to ignore the sizzling heat between them as Wyatt and Cassidy get even closer, but Cassidy knows Wyatt’s past, and she has a real job to begin in the fall. Wyatt may be a sure thing for the summer, but Cassidy needs more. For the first time in his life, Wyatt is forced to look toward the future if he doesn’t want to lose the one woman who’s shared his past and owns his heart.

5 best-friends-to-lovers STARS!!

This was my first book by Melissa Foster and I loved it!  I loved the angst, the true friendships, the tortured Hero, the writing style, the storyline!  Loved it all!!

“Harborside, Where Heaven Meets Earth”

There are so many moving parts to this book!  I was swiping pages on my kindle faster than ever!  From the first few paragraphs, we get background mixed with the present.  Things like “pine over Cassidy for four years” and “you don’t bone a girl you’ve known since you were 5”.  Hooked!  I needed to know what the circumstances of Cassidy and Wyatt finding themselves looking at an ‘us’ and not ‘just best friends’!

“I’ve never felt rage like I did tonight… all I could think about was how Cassidy was going to be crushed.”

Although the ‘friends to lovers’ story has been told a million times, something about the characters tugged at me. Cassidy is loyal and trusting and she’s just found out that she’s been betrayed in one of the worst ways possible.  And Wyatt, along with his twin – Delilah, have to deal with an unspeakable tragedy. Wyatt was a fixer.  He wanted to be the man who could take away his sisters grief, deal with his own grief, and deal with his nagging feelings about his best friend.  The dual POV worked great in this book!  While each are dealing with these crazy circumstances, I got to be inside both their heads.  Learning of all the insecurities and vulnerabilities that made each character tick.

Wyatt has to learn to man the business and because of Cassidy’s serious job offer, far away, how can he deal with it all?  It was really something reading through all the angst from the both of them.  Wyatt is terrified that his feelings come to fruition and he risks losing her amazing friendship.  But with his life flipped upside down, she just may be everything to hold him grounded.

“Sadness slipped out of the darkness and conquered me last night, and I knew the only way to survive it was with Cassidy.”

One of the most beautiful parts of this book was the deep-seated friendships and strong bonds that the primary and secondary characters portrayed.  It was a story of love, heartaches, loyalties. And finding that your best friend could have you making the biggest risk!

I loved it all!! Can’t wait to dig into more of the Harborside series!!
