5 hilarious and scorching STARS!!
“You selfish ass, there’s no CLEAR HISTORY button on your penis.”
When you read a book and can actually see, in your mind, the whole thing playing out on TV? Yeah, you’ve got gold! Suite 269 was gold! Christine Zolendz writes an interesting story with a few surprises! The characters were extremely likable and well-developed. It was hilarious, steamy, romantic, and watch out for those twists! I read this book cover to cover in one sitting and have so many great highlights on my kindle! I’m not going to hint on anything in this review – go in blind, you’ll adore this book!! It is written in dual POV so one of my favorite parts of this story was getting to read all the lust, crushing, dirty, and hilarious thoughts from both Lexa and Jameson. And the texts between them… oh so good. And funny! Nothing beats my 10 y/o asking what book I’m laughing so hard about – so she can read it next. NOT HAPPENING kid! Besides, any book that begins with the lines…
“Damn it! My pink penis-shaped water gun was almost out of water.”
…is not for the faint of heart – or 10 y/o’s!!
Lexa was the best comedic female character that I’ve read in quite some time! Laugh-out-loud-while-your-family-looks-at-you-like-you-have-3-heads funny!! But the best part was all she’s hiding underneath that ‘funny’. Lexa feels unwanted, not enough. There are many things that happen in the book that leave her with validated feelings. She’s never felt open, honest, truly vulnerable with a man. Until James.
“I’m pretty much and easily embarrassed, one-man, only-in-a-bed, lights off, average kind of girl.”
While Jameson is a typical alpha-male. He’s sexy, rich, and “had the allure of a bad boy and successful businessman blended perfectly together – like he majored in it in college.” Jameson doesn’t do romance. Is more into casual friends-with-benefits. But he can’t deny the fact that she has him twisted.
He thinks she’s sexy-as-sin, refreshing, down-to-earth. I swooned when Jameson was upset because she was hurt!
“I’m more sorry that you got hurt than anything. I’m sorry you had to go through all the pain for all her bull$hit.”
When Jameson finally propositions Lexa, as the blurb mentions, she decides to accept. Things only heat up from there my friends! But knowing the proposition was only for 3 weeks weighs heavy. On both of them! Slowly checking off Lexa’s ‘list’ was scorching hot.
“Because the way he looked at me. The way his eyes roamed over my body, followed by his hands and his lips. My God, I felt wanted, desired – cherished even.”
The book keeps the same comedic undertones while setting the sexual tension and hot factor to 10+! It was one of the best books I’ve read with the perfect mix of laughs and panty-melting moments. The storyline is original with a twist that is brilliant! Well written and excellently executed!
“Love was just a confusing, empty word to me,” he shrugged, “until you made it mean something.”
